Faculty of Chemistry

 

The venue of the meeting will be in the Faculty of Chemistry, at the University of Barcelona.

The Faculty is located on Campus Gateway to Knowledge, the area of Barcelona that is home to the highest concentration of research activity and knowledge transfer in Southern Europe, at the Diagonal Avenue, one of the main avenues of Barcelona, and very well connected by bus, tram and metro.

The Faculty of Chemistry is located at the Avinguda Diagonal 645 or Marti i Franques 1,

08028 Barcelona.

 

 

By Car

 

Barcelona has an extensive road and motorway network linking it to the rest of Spain. The border with France is only 150 kilometres away, with the motorway AP7.   You can get into the city from the two ring roads, the Ronda del Litoral and the Ronda de Dalt, or take the Avinguda Meridiana right into the centre. If you are coming from the rest of Spain, take the motorways AP-7, A2 or C-32.

The Faculty of Chemistry is located at the Avinguda Diagonal 645 or Marti i Franques 1, 08028 Barcelona, near the exit 11 of Ronda de Dalt, or the South enter of Barcelona with motorway A2.

By Train

 

Barcelona has rail links with various places in Europe and all of Spain. The AVE high-speed network also connects Barcelona with the French cities of Paris, Lyon, Toulouse and Marseilles, as well as Madrid and the south of Spain. The next railway station to the Faculty of Chemistry is Sants Estació.

When you arrive to Sants Estació, you have to take the metro (L3, Green) to Palau Reial metro station (direction Zona Universitaria). Please see the section about Public transport

The Faculty of Chemistry is at about 2 min walk of the Palau Reial metro station (Line 3 Green) and Tram Station (T1,T2,T3)

 

 

 

Public Transport

 

The Faculty is very near, 2 min walk, to the Metro station Palau Reial of the Line 3, Green, and the Tram station with the same name (Palau Reial) of the lines T1,T2,T3.

There are some bus stops of differents lines (7,33,67,75 ) near the Metro Station.

Barcelona has a multi-person travel card valid for 10 intermodal journeys. In the case of one-zone cards (all Barcelona city), passengers have 75 minutes between the first and last validation when changing lines or mode of transport (include buses, metro and trams). This card is not valid for Airport T1 and Airport T2 metro stations on line L9 Sud. The price is 9,95 for 10 intermodal journeys

By Plane

 

Barcelona-El Prat international airport has the second highest volume of air traffic of all Spanish airports, it is 12 kilometers from Barcelona. It has two large passenger terminals, T1 and T2 (low cost flights), from where around a hundred airlines offer direct flights all over Europe. Intercontinental flights usually stop over Madrid or other European capitals but there are also direct connections with various cities round the world.

 

 

 

How to get there from the Airport

Aerobus + Metro:

 

The Aerobus goes to Plaza Espanya. You have to stop there and then take the Metro (L3, Green) to Palau Reial  (direction Zona Universitaria). Price approx.: 7:30€ per person.

Train + Metro:

 

There is a Train that goes from the T2 of the Airport to Barcelona-Sants Train Station. When you arrive to Sants Estació, you have to take the metro (L3, Green) to Palau Reial  (direction Zona Universitaria) Price approx. : 6€ per person.

 

 

 

Metro

 

There is a new Metro line (Line 9 Sud, Orange) from T1 and T2 of the Airport to Zona Universitaria (14 stops). From Zona Universitaria you must change to the Line 3 Green for go to Palau Reial (direction Trinitat Nova ) this is one stop, or walk approx. 10 min to the Faculty.

 

The price of the a non-integrated individual metro ticket for one journey between Airport T1 and Airport T2 stations on line L9 Sud and the rest of the metro network is price 4,5 €.

Taxi

 

It is the easiest way, but the most expensive. It will cost you about 25-40€ (+1€ per luggage). The address is Faculty of Chemistry at the Avinguda Diagonal 645, 08028 Barcelona.
